Types of Data

Kitely Market shows detailed analytics about how users interact with a store's products. The following information is collected for each product:

Date Range

The analytics information is always shown for a specific date range (i.e., not for the entire lifetime of the store). Select the date range using the Date Picker at the top of the page.

In addition, you can select the resolution of the data. The options are: Day / Week / Month. The resolution determines how much data a single point represents. For example, if the resolution is Week then each point in the timeline represents the data from an entire week.

Modes

You can view analytics in the following modes:

Product Analytics Page

To view a product's analytics, click the Analytics link in the Product Page.

This page contains the following sections:

Product Price

One of the fields in the "Detailed Statistics" table is called Price. This field requires a bit of explanation. Often it isn't possible to name a single price for a product, because the product can have multiple variations, each with their own price. Furthermore, each of the variations could have had its price change several times during the selected date range. Despite this, it's useful to show the product price in some way, to make it easy to see at a glance whether cheap products sell better than expensive products, or whether changing the price affects sales.

Therefore, we calculate a single "representative price" for each product, which attempts to distill into a single number how expensive the product is. The exact algorithm that we use isn't really important, since the "Price" field is only meant to be representative; it's not a precise value. The price is a combination of the value of the product's sales in the date range (if any), and the prices of the product's variations.

Store Analytics Page

To view the store's analytics, select Store Analytics from the "Go to" menu in the toolbar.

This page shows the sum of statistics for all of the store's products. It contains the following graphs:

Analytics Reports

At the bottom of the analytics pages there are links to download reports in CSV format.

Additional Notes

The analytics system was completed on September 16, 2014. Data such as Impressions, Product Views, etc. is only partially available before this date (and not available at all prior to August 8, 2014). However, sales data is fully available for all dates.

The analytics graphs are updated once per day, after the day ends (in GMT time). So if you change the date range to include the current day then you’ll only see some sales information, but not full analytics. For this reason, the default date range doesn’t include the current day.
