Overview

The program "Setup Kitely" configures your account and your system in order to make it easy to visit virtual worlds.

Setup Kitely is intended for use by users who belong to an Organization. You can run it even if you don't belong to an Organization, but it won't be very useful. That's because the main purpose of Setup Kitely is to configure Firestorm, but Firestorm has built-in support for the Kitely grid, so Setup Kitely doesn't need to configure it.

What Setup Kitely Does

Setup Kitely handles the following tasks:

  • It asks you to accept Kitely's Terms of Service. (This is required in order to visit virtual worlds.)
  • Select your avatar (how you appear in the virtual worlds).
  • It checks if you have Firestorm installed. Firestorm is the program that allows you to visit virtual worlds. If Setup Kitely finds that you don't have Firestorm installed then it will give you a download link. You have to download and install Firestorm on your own, using this link.
  • Once Firestorm has been installed, Setup Kitely configures it to add the Grid that your organization uses.
  • Setup Kitely also configures Firestorm with your Username and Password. (Normally users need to type in their credentials in Firestorm, but Setup Kitely takes care of this for you).
